Habits for winter…

Lucy Johnson, wellbeing practitioner and member of Feel Good Norfolk (a non-profit which has developed free and reliable resources for the people of Norfolk to improve their health) gives us her favourite strategies to stay healthy during the colder months.

When it comes to winter, many of us brace for shorter days, colder temperatures, and the potential toll these changes can take on our mood and energy levels.

The long, dark months can sometimes leave us feeling more tired, isolated, or down than usual.

However, with a few mindful changes, it's possible to not only survive winter but thrive during it.

Firstly, it’s important to remember that feeling down or low in energy during the winter months isn’t your fault.

It’s a natural response to the seasonal changes our bodies undergo. With reduced daylight, we often get less exposure to sunlight, which can lower serotonin levels, the brain’s "feel-good" neurotransmitter.
